about GRIEFCASE

"GRIEFCASE" is my third album of original songs.

I had a list of songs I had been working  on for years. It is always a big undertaking for me to make a record.  A lot of songs fell by the wayside.  BUT... these twelve songs made the cut and were expertly produced with two incredibly talented friends (David Kumin and Stewart Lerman) who gave me their best work.

We had terrific guest stars who performed brilliantly.

I played guitars and piano and I sang all twelve tunes including a duet with my daughter Oona Roche.   Longtime bandmate David Kumin co-produced and played BASS, B3, guitars and keys and did a ton of the mixing.  Grammy winning producer Stewart Lerman co-produced the project at his private recording facility in NJ.  Renowned drummer and old pal Brian Dunne played drums and we had a guest appearance on a few tracks from the incomparable David Mansfield who gave us wonderful fiddle and dobro. It's crazy how good it sounds.

My ever lovin' wife Mary Mullally co-wrote two of the songs.

It been a slice of heaven to make this album.  Stewart has made some of my favorite records and I'm grateful that he made room in his world do an album with me.  David Kumin labored relentlessly to get this album right and is a goldmine of talent and a great musician.

I hope everybody gets to hear it.

My second album was "Harp Trouble In Heaven." Released in 2008 and beautifully produced by the late great Rob Morsberger  this work featured Brian Dunne on drums and Paul Ossola on bass. Mary, my wife of 30 years, co-wrote one of the songs for this album and my 3 sisters gave us some beautiful harmonies. We had incredible guest guitarists Peter Calo and Jon Herrington on this record and they sound great.
